Dear QNHS District Communities,
I am beyond thrilled to share some wonderful news with all of you. Our district has officially been awarded a generous $240,000 grant from the Hecksher Foundation to implement a Financial Literacy Pilot.
This significant investment will directly impact twelve of our schools, which have opted to participate when the pilot was only a dream. This pilot aims to provide our students with the critical tools and knowledge they need to navigate their financial futures with confidence. Please join me in congratulating the following participating schools:
AOFE
Francis Lewis HS
Grover Cleveland HS
HS for Arts & Business
HSAC
Information Technology HS
John Bowne HS
LICHS
MVB HS
Newtown HS
RFK HS
World Journalism Prep
We are incredibly excited to see this pilot in motion. This initiative represents a major step forward as we continue to support our students, schools, and communities in close alignment with NY State’s Portrait of a Graduate. By prioritizing financial literacy, we are ensuring our graduates are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the real-world skills necessary for lifelong success.
Thank you to Peter Sloane from the Hecksher Foundation and Beth Kobliner for their vision and partnership, and to everyone in our district who worked to make this opportunity a reality.
This is an inspiring milestone for our district—more to come!
Regards,
Hoa Tu, Ed.D.
Superintendent
